PrintShop Operator Manual
This user manual covers the core operational dashboards of PrintShop Manager. It helps your printing operators coordinate scheduling, review sheets, track stocks, and calculate job estimations.
1. Shop Floor QR Code tracking
To monitor print jobs in real-time across screen stations, offset presses, and binders:
- Print a Job Ticket: When an order is created, the system generates a worksheet containing a unique tracking QR Code at the top header.
- Scan at Workstations: As sheets move through production, floor operators scan the ticket using a handheld scanner or the camera interface of a tablet.
- Update Job States:
The system updates the job queue status automatically:
- Prepress Check: File dimensions and color separation audits.
- Press Run: Inks are configured and sheet counts are logged.
- Finishing: Folding, cutting, binding, and packaging.
- Dispatched: Awaiting logistics delivery pickup.
2. Estimation Calculator
Compute printing costs instantly using our material and labor matrix:
- Substrate stock cost: Sheets, boxes, envelope bounds, or banner rolls.
- Ink volume parameters: CMYK ink densities, varnish coatings, or spot PMS colors.
- Setups and labor fees: Plate configurations, press run speeds, and pack times.
To add new pricing rates, navigate to Settings > Cost Profiles and click Create Profile.
3. Inventory Stock Alerts
Monitor paper rolls, substrates, sheets, and inks:
- Low Stock Warnings: Configure notifications when stocks fall below minimum levels.
- Supplier Orders: Auto-generate PDF purchase orders to send to ink or substrate suppliers.
- Batch Audits: Log batch numbers and track exact paper rolls used on large digital press runs.
